The smell reached her first; she was sure it was what woke her up. It was fresh and delicious, and it was like coming home. It didn't matter how long she'd been gone, or what she'd been doing, how lost she sometimes felt... The smell of Mrs. Kent's homemade pie was like coming home again.
"Chloe?"
She opened her eyes at the sound of the voice, finding Clark in the doorway, and the little blonde smiled at her best friend. "Hey, Clark."
"The pie's ready," he said. She smiled again.
"I could smell it."
"Yeah... and Chloe?"
"Yeah?"
"Welcome home."
