Detective Don Flack looked at the pretty, blonde-haired girl sitting across from him. For someone that was charged with murder, she certainly seemed serene. Of course, she claimed that the person she murdered was a 'Zoner'... whatever the hell that was. She had no ID and only said her name was Kara.

"Where you from, kid?" he asked. She blinked, then answered.

"Krypton."

"And that would be?"

"A planet. It was destroyed years ago," she said, eyes on his. Flack sighed. If this girl was planning for an insanity defense... He was pretty sure she was going to get it.

She bit her lip as she looked at the hospital in Vegas Oliver had settled her mother into. She was so intent on looking at the place that she almost didn't notice the tall young man until she nearly ran into him. He fumbled, stammered, and she offered him a small smile.

"It's my fault. I wasn't looking." She looked back at the place. "I'm here to visit my mother."

"Me, too. Or, I'm visiting my mother," the man said. "I'm Spencer Reid."

"I'm Chloe Sullivan. The place is intimdating, isn't it?"

"Yeah."

She smiled again. "Let's go in together."

"Oh, my God, that's Oliver Queen," Emily interrupted, rising to her feet as the incredibly handsome (and slightly lost-looking) blond man came closer. "Can we... Can we help you?" she asked, and the billionaire smiled slightly.

"I hope so. I'm looking for-"

"Ollie! You're here!" a voice called out, and they all looked over as Chloe came rushing towards him, the billionaire catching her in a hug... JJ and Emily sharing a look.

Suddenly the computer tech filling in for Garcia... was a lot more interesting.

She'd gone away to college. She'd needed a break from Smallville, and Hearst College had seemed like a good choice. It was far away from Kansas, and Chloe'd decided that she needed that. So she was standing here in a dorm room at a terrific college in a small town in California, trying to get over the sudden bout of nerves she was feeling.

"You must be Chloe."

Chloe blinked, turned to face the petite blonde that had just walked in. "I am."

The girl smiled, held out a hand. "Good, then I found the right room. I'm Veronica Mars."

"So do I win?" the brunette asked, referring to the little 'whose life is weirder' thing they had going. Chloe smirked.

"Not yet. My best friend is an alien, I've come back to life multiple times... and I had sex with the Green Arrow on the roof of the Daily Planet last Tuesday."

Bella pressed her lips together, then heaved out a sigh. "Seriously?"

"Seriously."

"Let's call it a draw."

He blinked, amazed at her strength. He'd never met someone that wasn't a vampire that was as strong as he was... And she could clearly match his strength. "What are you?" Edward asked, sounding breathless, which was funny, since he had no need of it. "You're definitely not human."

The blonde girl arched a brow. He couldn't hear her thoughts, and her smell was one he'd never been near before. "Neither are you."

"I'm... does it matter what I am?"

"Does it matter what I am?" she echoed.

"I... I don't know." He paused. "I'm Edward."

She smiled. "I'm Kara."
